Inka Parei’s The Shadowboxing Woman was originally published as Die Schattenboxerin by Schöffling & Co. The English translation by Katy Derbyshire was published by Seagull Books in the spring of 2011.
It has also been translated into Bulgarian, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Chinese, Croation, French, Italian and Taiwanese.
The novel tells the story of a young woman before and after the fall of the Wall in Berlin – a place of change that changes the protagonist with it.
